The Wallpaper Stories
What do you leave behind?
For the past two years, I have been collecting discarded materials that I find on the street, in containers, and among bulky waste. Traces of the past often possess an unintended beauty that inspires me and unexpectedly merges with my own intuitive interventions.
The new project, The Wallpaper Stories, begins in an abandoned house. The materials and objects left behind form the starting point for new work. The colors, the wallpaper, the peeling paint, and the signs of use tell stories
that extend beyond their original function. By applying minimalism, I seek to emphasize the essence of the house, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect on the life that once took place here.
The works that emerge from these found objects and furnishings form a reflection on transience and the expressive power of the everyday. They invite contemplation of the memories and the story a house carries with it.
They show how something new can arise from what is old.
A homage to this house, the place, the time, and its former inhabitants.
